“Hello, Detective Fletcher? This is general Adams from the SDPD. (San Diego Police Department) I am sure you have heard about the chain of robberies in the Gas Lamp District.“Yes, it was to my knowledge that that group was caught.”“No, that was just the media’s way of calming down business owners. I know it is terrible.”“I get the feeling that you need my assistance?” inquired Fletcher“Yes, this last one was quite queer. We are going to need you to come check out the tapes and the Jewelry store that they robbed.”“Okay, I’m on my way down to the San Diego Police Department. I am going to have to make a stop to get my partner Jim Worthington”, Answered Fletcher“Jim wake up!”, Steve Fletcher exclaimed at Jim Worthington’s bedside. “My God what are you doing here at this hour you blithering idiot!” Jim exclaimed “We’ve got a new case and we need to be at the SDPD ASAP.”Jim made a quick toilet then they were out the door. When they made it to the Police Department, they met up with another detective then road to the jewelry store. At the jewelry store they noticed that the glass display case was shattered but no jewelry was missing. After they observed the store they checked out the security cameras. The tapes were curious because it seemed like they went in broke the glass and then left. After they looked at the tapes Steve decided to talk to an employee that works at the store. Steve started off by saying, “did anything out of the ordinary happen the day of the robbery?” “No, I was just shredding credit card numbers like any other Friday. Quite soothing actually.”“Did anybody peculiar walk in the day of the robbery?” Steve questioned.“The only people I can think of are a kid looking for an inexpensive ring for his girlfriend and a middle aged man looking for an engagement ring.” “Thank you, that will be all.”“There didn’t seem to be anything weird, but there has got to be something of substance in what she told us,” Steve whispered to Jim. As they were walking out of the store Steve found a fabric horn. He then slipped it in his pocket and went back home to think with Jim. At Steve’s apartment they observed the bull horn. They had concluded that it was a piece of a fabric patch. “Jim can you look up and see if there are any groups, schools, or organizations with a bull as their logo in the San Diego area?” “Ya I just looked that up, and it seems that there is a high school in an L.A. suburb with what seems to be a matching logo” “Okay we’ll head over to the school tomorrow.” At the school they decided to check out the soccer, basketball, football, golf, and lacrosse. They went with teams because it was a group robbery after all. Steve and Jim started by going to the soccer facility. All of the guys there seemed like they didn’t even care about the two detectives. This got the two detectives suspicious because many school kids would get nervous if the police came to their school. Steve then ordered them to listen and answer any questions he had for them. “I am sure you all have heard about the chain of robberies in the Gas Lamp district, and I want to know if you have any extra knowledge about these occurrences to help the police find the group,” Steve began. Judging by how relaxed the team was Steve deducted that they were not any part of these series of crimes, but they must go into further investigation. Next, out of curiosity, Steve asked to see all of their jerseys. All of them came up one by one except for one kid who claims he forgot his at home. Their coach also said that he had an account of all the kids on the night of the crime. Steve decided to go next to the gym to interview the basketball team. As they were walking over to the gym Steve inquired that only the older players on the soccer team had stitched patches. That made him curious to see if that was the trend with the other teams as well. When they got to the gym the reaction of the basketball players was far different than the one from the soccer players. The basketball players got all up tight and giddy while the soccer players paid no mind. The trend was still the same with the seniors having the stitched patches like the one found in the jewelry store. All of the basketball players had their jerseys with full patches though. Steve then went to the football facility to question the football team and asked to see the seniors jerseys which all had full patches. Steve then asked for an alibi for the football team they all said that they were at a Chargers game that night. A little bit discouraged Steve soon left the football facility. Steve went to go check the golf and lacrosse teams, but both seemed clean. Steve suspected there was still some evidence left in the soccer fields due to the soccer players careless act. When he arrived he investigated the lockers to find a coat with a horn missing. Steve peered inside the jacket, it had a few letters on it that were too faint to make out. He figured it might be best if he took it back to have Jim look over the jacket. When he arrived Jim quickly believed that the jacket said SDHSF. At first they were clueless at what this meant, but they soon figure out that it meant San Diego High School Football. Steve and Jim both went to the football locker room to investigate. Once Steve and Jim made their way to the football locker room to snoop around they spotted a ceiling panel that was uneven. Steve then pulled out a chair to stand on. When he lifted the chair he found a scanner and a pouch full of papers with numbers on them.Steve and Jim had now narrowed it down to the football team, but they still had to figure out who on the football team and why. That is when they decided to go home and think. After they arrive home they realize the numbers aren’t just numbers, they’re credit card numbers. They didn’t understand what high school kids would want with credit card numbers. Then it struck them...They put together all the clues. The seniors. The team. The credit card numbers. The football players wanted these to go to the same college, but you need money to go to college. They still needed to find out who did the crime. They got interviews with all of the football players that went to the Chargers football game. They showed them the evidence they had of the credit card numbers and the scanner. At once all of them had no answer for these came from. After a long while of question Steve and Jim got the players to confess to the crime and they were sent off to jail for robbery.
